• In 1951, the church was founded by Mennonite refugees.
• Support of the Backnang city council and the Mennonite Central Committee made it possible for several houses to be built for these refugees in Sachsenweiler in Menno and Waldstraße. Later, the church building was built there, too.
• The congregation works together with other churches in the Evangelical Alliance and the Alliance of Christian Churches (ACK).
• The congregation is a member of the Association of German Mennonite Churches (VdM).
