Pax-boy memories 16.07.2006

On 16th July we had a special worship service, at which we particularly thought about the pax-boy´s construction work from 1952-1956. On this day, our special guests were the two former pax-boys Myron Yoder and Harald Miller with his wife. Many of the boys had sent their greetings to our gathering and some even had sent photos from their time in Backnang. The pictures can still be seen in a little exhibition in the assembly hall. Besides, we saw a 20 minute film about the beginnings of the Mennonite settlement in Sachsenweiler. Copies of the film can be purchased at the church for 5,-€. Our guests made the past come alive once again by giving short reports during the worship service. Over lunch they had the opportunity of meeting old friends and sharing more good old memories. After all, the pax-boys took some impressions of the current church life back to their homes and tons of greetings to all those who were not able to come.
